TOGETHER, WE "CAHN" BUILD THIS MOVEMENT.
We are initiating a campaign to secure a revenue stream for the City of Cincinnati Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Although the trust fund was established in 2018, no money has been allocated into it. We want to give the City of Cincinnati an opportunity to vote on an investment into affordable housing.
Our affordable housing trust fund campaign is a community-driven movement, and we need activists and organizers to join our campaign teams. The first step is to petition the public and gather signatures from registered voters, and then this initiative can be on the ballot for the people of Cincinnati to decide whether or not they value affordable housing. We are planning for this initiative to be on the ballot in May of 2021.
It will take a collaborative effort across the entire community, and we can find a team that fits your skills, strengths, and personality. Each team has a "Lead" whose role is to coordinate communication with the Steering Committee. The Lead also schedules and facilitates meetings, but the activities are decentralized and each team member has plenty of space dream and discover.
Public Relations Team
Are you a designer, content writer, or infographic junkie with an edgy passion for progressive social change and an intersectional analysis of justice? The PR team might be the right fit. This team is building our social media platforms from the ground up, and also writes articles, blogs, and press releases for traditional and digital publication. Interested? Email Alice Flanders at
Are you a compassionate, active listener who easily connects with others? Members of the Storytelling Team find people who have experienced housing instability, and provide them with a platform to share their narrative. You'll coordinate with other team members to interview participants, collect video and audio files, and connect the stories to a community audience through social media. Interested?
